Ride-Hailing Startup Passes 1 Million Miles with Toyota Fuel Cell Cars

GHT Mobility GmbH says its CleverShuttle ride-hailing fleet of Toyota Mirai fuel cell vehicles has covered more than 2.2 million km (1.4 million miles) in two years.
CleverShuttle was founded in 2014 and began using 20 Mirai sedans in September 2017. The startup has since added another 25 Mirais, which the company claims makes it the world’s largest operator of fuel cell vehicles.
The fleet of 45 Mirai cars has transported nearly 600,000 people in Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig and Munich, Germany. The app-based ride-pooling service coordinates the pickup and transportation of multiple passengers with similar routes and destinations. CleverShuttle says its prices are about 40% lower than those of conventional taxis.
