Ford Motor Co. is calling back 322,000 cars in Europe with leaky starter batteries that could trigger an electrical fire.
The campaign involves 2014-2019 model Mondeo sport sedans (pictured), S-Max MPVs and Galaxy minivans, Automotive News Europe reports. The online newspaper says half the affected vehicles are in Germany and the U.K.
Ford says battery acid from the vehicles’ starter battery could leak from the negative terminal and disable the battery monitoring system. If that happens, the battery might overheat and cause an underhood fire.
