FCA Recalls 107,900 Diesel Pickups for Fire Risk
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is calling back 107,900 of its diesel-powered Ram 1500 fullsize pickup trucks in the U.S. that could develop coolant leaks and catch fire.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is calling back 107,900 of its diesel-powered Ram 1500 fullsize pickup trucks in the U.S. that could develop coolant leaks and catch fire.
The callback involves 2014-2019 model diesels. The campaign does not involve 2020 model 1500s or models with gasoline engines.
FCA says affected diesels are fitted with an exhaust gas recirculation cooler that can develop tiny cracks and spray coolant into the engine compartment. The company reports a small number of resulting fires, along with four minor injuries related to the problem.
The company hasn’t indicated when the recall will begin. In the interim, it advises diesel owners to monitor the coolant levels of their trucks and contact a dealer if levels keep dropping.
