During the initial phase, the companies will evaluate ways to better utilize localization and mapping technologies, how sensors categorize objects and the potential for vehicles to communicate with traffic lights and other infrastructure systems.
The goal of the project is to create an optimized environment for future autonomous and connected vehicles, according to the partners. No timeframe or other details were provided.
